Kira had no idea how she managed to persuade her parents to take that long vacation without her, but she won't look a gift horse in the mouth. The Yukimuras are taking a two week vacation to visit Japan and Korea, and have left their daughter behind to mind the fort. Of course, she's never given them a reason to think she would be less than responsible about taking care of the house.

And Kira reall does plan to take care of the house. No loud parties, no property damage, no nefarious plots.

Well. One nefarious plot.

The early part of Christmas Eve is of course reserved for family, which is why she extended an invitation to Alan for a late get-together at her place. Exchanging gifts, late night movies, sipping cocoa, and, Kira has finally admitted to herself with a shiver of anticipation, the possibility of something a bit more exciting now that she's realized how she feels about him.

It's either going to be beautiful, or a disaster. Or possibly a beautiful disaster.

As it gets toward the time she's expecting him, she finds herself eyeing the clock, and idly wondering if the condoms she bought and hid in unexpected places around the living room, her bedroom, and the kitchen were a bit over the top as far as planning.
