Character Name: Allison Argent
Series: TEEN WOLF
Age: 17
From When?: Allison will arrive after the events of episode 3.20, ECHO HOUSE.
Inmate/Warden: Warden. Everything in Allison’s family history and upbringing makes her custom tailored to the task. Her combat and self defense training makes her capable of handling a physically confrontational Inmate, her training as a Hunter and as an archer has blessed her with enormous patience and an eye for tracking her prey (or in this case, her Inmate), and her adherence to a simple, specific Code to govern her behavior and her actions within a hunt have shaped her sense of morality. Escape also served as part of her training as a hunter, being her very first lesson, so in the event a flood, a breach, or a visit in any port places her or her Inmate in jeopardy, she is well equipped to ensure her charge's safe return to the Barge.
While these skills and traits may serve her well in the most basic task of containing, managing, and supervising an Inmate, it’s her experiences that make her not just willing, but will serve her well in rehabilitation. As future head of her family, she was the one who changed the centuries old Argent Code from We Hunt Those Who Hunt Us to We Protect Those Who Cannot Protect Themselves. It’s a Code she hasn’t had much chance to put into practice, and on board the Barge she can change that. Also, having lost her way once, she knows what it’s like to come back from the brink, and would consider sharing her experience and applying it to helping someone else not just a great accomplishment, but a true example of following the new Code.

Abilities/Powers: Allison is a normal human teenage girl with no supernatural enhancements. She is, however, an exceptional markswoman and has been referred to in her own canon as “a perfect shot.” She also has extensive combat and self-defense training, has been instructed in various methods of escaping restraints, and having been raised by a father who dealt in firearms, she has a solid foundation of knowledge about the function and use of guns ranging from semi-automatic to older and antique models in addition to her personal specialties: archery and knives.
Personality: Allison is both soft spoken and strong willed by nature. Left to her own devices, she’s a very gentle young woman: kind, friendly, and sweet...as normal and nice a girl as they come. She is also very passionate, however, and that passion combined with that strong will have given her a little bit of a rebellious streak. Though there are instances where she prides herself on being the good child, obedient and upstanding, at the end of the day she’s willing to break the rules with good reason, such as helping her friends or spending time with the boy she loves when her family wrongfully keeps them apart. Though it may chafe at her conscience, at the end of the day she understands that trusting herself, and her pack, are the best moral compass she can possess.
Though she is primarily motivated by emotion and thinks with her heart early on, training as a hunter has taught Allison to think more clinically and rationally. It’s a skill she struggles with, as it goes against her basic nature, but her training as a markswoman has aided her in this endeavor. The laser focus she gives a target, she must often give to controlling her emotions and presenting a strong face as both the future head of the Argent family, and the unofficial soldier of the McCall pack.
Despite her ability to present a strong face, when all is said and done Allison wears her heart on her sleeve. It’s this open display of her love and her loyalty, as well as its depth, that is one of her greatest strengths and her greatest weaknesses. Her own grandfather goes so far as to use it against her, manipulating her grief over her mother’s passing to turn her into a weapon, and to turn her against everyone she cares about, including her own father and the boy she loves. That same open devotion, however, later plays a critical role in saving her father, Stiles’s father, and Scott’s mother from the machinations of the Darach, when she risks her life as a surrogate sacrifice, and admits to everyone, including Scott, that she’s beginning to develop feelings for packmate Isaac Lahey.
Even though we see a more guarded Allison in Season 3, one thing that has never changed in all her struggles has been her aforementioned loyalty. As a human in a werewolf pack, it’s made her a valuable part of Scott’s group, but as the future leader of a powerful and infuential hunting family, it’s also a relentless source of conflict. Despite her opposing views on werewolves, she loves her family and feels real guilt at betraying them and the legacy her father holds so dear. She refuses, however, to turn her back on her friends, who have stood behind her at the risk of their own lives, unlike her own blood. It’s also tested her in her personal life since ending her relationship with Scott, and acknowledging her growing feelings for Isaac. The endless struggle of balancing her love of family with her love of friends and the love of another boy takes its toll, but the struggle has shaped who she is...because she has no one left to call family except her father, who loves her unconditionally, and would not have survived her trial by fire if not for her friends, who have accepted her even at her absolute worst.
Through it all, one characteristic of Allison’s personality has come to define who she is: violence. The shadow world that the Argent hunters live in, the often cruel and savage path they follow...despite the light in Allison’s heart and soul, there is a streak of that darkness within her. She’s more than a dutiful daughter and a strong young woman, there is a part of her that enjoys it. The weapons, the fighting, even the blood...Allison’s discovery of her family secret has been a journey in which she’s found that her legacy is part of her nature. Though she has tried to fight it, and even went so far as trying to leave the life for good, the dedication to the family Code and her own inherent streak of savagery would not allow for it. For this reason, she’s learned to accept that inner darkness, and apply it to a higher purpose: a new Code, a new path through the darkness devoted not to the hunt and the kill, but to the protection of those who cannot defend themselves against the creatures of the night.
Barge Reactions: Allison will react to the Barge, as a whole, as a job to be completed. Being that she’s used to moving around a lot, she’ll be pretty businesslike about getting down to the task at hand, but willing to open herself up to new relationships, new friends, and happy to take any aid her fellow Wardens can offer.
She’ll reach out to any Inmate she can, and even when she’s been assigned she’ll be eager to help any who need it. She will not, however, be taken advantage of: any physical altercation, she will meet with all necessary force though she will favor a minimum of harm to her opponents. If she feels she’s being manipulated by an Inmate, she will either take him to task or attempt to use his own deception against him, if she thinks she can turn it into a suitable punishment of some kind.
In terms of floods and breaches, Allison will react as a hunter: assess each new situation as analytically as possible before acting. These events, as I understand it, can be all-consuming and very drastic in the chaos they create, but living in Beacon Hills, Allison has learned to take such happenings in relative stride. Being that breaches are more sweeping, no matter how she might be changed by the effects of a breach, she will still behave as her nature dictates: if confronted, she will fight as she was trained to do, and if her pack or her friends are put at risk, she will put their welfare before her own. Once she finds a place of calm and normalcy again, however, if she’s been under any serious threat or stress, she may require some time alone to allow herself to decompress. She hates to appear weak, and will demand of herself that any emotional breakdown take place in private, even away from her friends if possible.
With regards to other encounters, such as other fandoms, genres, and types of people she may meet, Allison will be wide open. Moving a lot has made her adaptable to new environments, and being that she will arrive believing she is totally alone, she will draw a great deal of comfort from meeting others that either share some of her experiences, or learn more about the other worlds from which her fellow Wardens and possible Inmate charges come from. She will be especially fascinated by the idea of meeting people from worlds she believes are fictional, and depending on her knowledge of their canon, be especially eager to help Inmates she knows from other media. She will see it as a trade off: she can help them further their path to redemption, and she can expand her knowledge of things beyond the world she knows, possibly even gain fresh information to add to the bestiary back home.
Path to Redemption: N/A
Deal: Allison’s deal was a simple one: if she serves on the Barge, Stiles will be safe. She leaves her canon knowing he can only be rid of the Nogitsune through becoming a werewolf. Stiles has rejected the offer of an Alpha’s bite before, and knowing how important his humanity is to him, as well as having lost her mother when she died rather than turn, the Admiral has offered to bring Stiles an alternative means of expelling the Nogitsune without sacrificing his humanity, so long as Allison joins the Barge to serve as a Warden.
History: Allison Argent was raised in a stable, if nomadic home. Her father is a firearms dealer, and his work, as far as she knows in Season 1, requires him to travel a lot for business deals and meetings. As a result, Allison has repeated a year of high school due to moving so often. Prior to her arrival in Beacon Hills, she lived in San Francisco for more than a year, which is quite a long time for the Argents. In her travels, she studied gymnastics for eight years, and archery to a degree that puts her skill level at that of “perfect shot,” as stated by Scott McCall in “More Bad Than Good.”
Early on, Allison became fast friends with Lydia, and the two eventually become best friends. At the same time, a budding romance with Scott took flight when he charmed her by offering her a pen, not realizing his wolf hearing let him listen to her complain about a lack of one outside the building.
Allison’s knowledge of the supernatural came through her aunt, Kate. She struggled to come to terms with this new knowledge, and later found out that Scott was a werewolf at the winter formal, when he transformed in front of her. With a kiss from her, his wolf visage vanished, and in that moment she confessed she loved him.
Though her parents forbade her from seeing Scott, the two dated in secret, struggling with keeping their parents off their scent, as well as her grandfather, Gerard Argent, who arrives for Kate’s funeral early in Season 2. Allison even goes so far as to see another boy publicly to keep her family from finding out about Scott, but the ruse ended quickly. Inevitably, her mother found out, and later tried to kill Scott.
When Derek bites her mother during his struggle to save Scott, it compels her to end her own life rather than become a werewolf. Her death leaves Allison griefstricken, and through Gerard’s manipulation, Allison’s grief turns to cold fury. Trained by her father and understanding the expectations of leadership that have been placed upon her, Allison loses herself in the hunt, and brutally assaults Derek’s pack, who are also her schoolmates. Once she learns Gerard used her to get the wolf’s bite from Derek because he was dying of cancer, she breaks up with Scott because of her actions, and spends four months in France learning more about her legacy.
In Season 3A, Allison and her father have moved to a smaller apartment, swearing to leave the past behind them. The appearance of the Darach, however, puts an end to their retirement from the supernatural world, and by the end of the season, father and daughter have pledged themselves to a new code: We Protect Those Who Cannot Protect Themselves.
The first opportunity to put that new code into action comes when a young woman named Malia Tate appears to be the victim of mistaken identity and a lack of knowledge of her own origins: a werecoyote that killed her family, she has been in animal form since the age of eight. When Allison and her friends realize what’s happened to her, she becomes the target of her own father, who believes it’s possible that she’s actually the coyote responsible for killing his family, and remains perfectly happy with killing her even if she’s not. With the help of the pack, Malia returns to her family, leaving the pack to face an even greater threat: the presence of the Nogitsune.
The Nogitsune, they learn, is a dark fox spirit that has possessed Stiles, a result of destruction left by the defeat of the Darach. The spirit is being hunted by primordial entities known as the Oni, entities Allison helps to face in an effort to protect her friends from their seemingly harmful influence. After helping her father confront an old yakuza acquaintance, she learns the Oni are only hunting the Nogitsune and not a threat to the pack. Once it is discovered that Stiles is being controlled by the Nogitsune, however, the Oni once again become an enemy of the pack.
Allison departs from her canon after the events of ECHO HOUSE. Stiles, temporarily in control of his own faculties again, commits himself to a sanitarium while the rest of the pack robs an armored truck in an effort to find a scroll that reveals the means of curing their friend: to eject the Nogitsune, the body of the host must be changed. For Stiles, this will mean becoming a werewolf, and it is this eventuality that drives Allison to accept the offer of the Admiral.

[Before she begins speaking, Allison makes sure she's got the right angle to be seen on her communicator, then takes a deep breath and smiles.]
Hi.
[She pauses, then laughs humorlessly as she lets her gaze drop.]
Okay, this is way weirder than I thought it was going to be. I guess...I'm just restless. Out of practice, I haven't had to move around for a long time. I haven't been assigned to anyone just yet, but I know I will be. And I just want to introduce myself, you know? Put myself out there for anyone who wants my help. And I honestly do want to help. It's why I came.
[She lifts her head again, and there's something a little different in her gaze...a little less friendly teenager and a little harder, a little older.]
It's...one reason I came.
[The moment passes, the look fades, and her smile brightens again.]
But I'm not here to complain about myself, right? So! Um...my name is Allison, I'm from Beacon Hills, California...and if any of you need anything at all? Just let me know. I look forward to getting to know everyone!
Sample RP:
It was easy to forget, now and again, that it wasn’t home.
Getting up and heading to her bathroom that first morning on the Barge, it drifted in and out of her consciousness as she reached for the strawberry scented shampoo in her shower caddy. For a moment, she forgot as the sweet, refreshing scent of its lather filled her lungs and made her smile...then remembered that she’d just run out of it back home. The bottle should be cucumber melon instead.
Sitting on the edge of her bed as she laced up her sneakers for a morning run, it slipped away again and she worried about running into Stiles in town. She ached for him, thought about calling Scott to see if he was all right...
She got as far as pulling out her ring daggers to take with her, just in case, when she remembered that her morning run wouldn’t be in the cool morning air, but in a ship that might not see true daylight for ages, even if she went above deck.
Standing in front of her vanity mirror as she pulled her hair up for her run, she glanced at a framed photo of her pack: Scott, Stiles, Lydia, and her. As much as she cared about Isaac, he was a gift that had been given to her by circumstance...he wasn’t the one who held her as she wept for Scott after her father nearly killed him that first horrible day after the formal. He hadn’t been her first love, he had been a soul she rescued. He was special, she cared for him more than anything...he was a blessing.
But as a human, trying to understand the machinations of a wolf pack...it only ever came down to those three faces, grouped around her own.
And as she smiled, as she picked up the picture and let her hair fall loose again, she forgot that they weren’t there.
When she remembered, when her room became the Barge again...she forced herself to forget.
She was human. She didn’t have a pack. She didn’t need one.
When she was home...when Stiles was safe...she would let herself remember.
