014} i'm almost human, please don't run away / cause wherever you are, i'll be a scream away
[When the video feed clicks on, it shows an image of the dirt with a triskelion scratched into it. A familiar female voice narrates as a stick comes into the shot, pointing to each leg of the trifold spiral.]
Alpha. Beta. Omega. This symbolizes the cycle of the werewolf: at any time, any wolf can rise to one or fall to another.
[The feed shifts quickly, and soon a familiar set of features fills the feed sufficiently to hide the background in an effort to obscure her location. Allison Argent is pretty much the same in appearance, no matter where she's known...but those not from the Mirror Barge may not recognize the bright, earnest light in her features, and may notice the absence of that sliver of ice in her expression, despite the fact that her eyes are narrowed in the feed with steely resolve.]
We all got the same message from the Admiral. He wants these...infiltrators dead. Rack up your kills, and you get a prize.
[She leans in a little more, lip curling in a little sneer.]
He's turned life and death into a game...and the only way to truly win a game like this is not to play.
Anyone that feels the same is welcome to join me. If you want to live, if you don't want to participate in this slaughter? Leave this symbol somewhere. Scratch it in the ground, carve it in a tree, paint it on a rock. Whoever you are, wherever you come from...treat this as a symbol of safe harbor. If you leave this mark, you're promising that you won't kill anyone, and you won't attack anyone unless you have to defend yourself against a threat. I will find you, I will take you somewhere safe...and I swear, I will protect you with my last breath.
[This is the part where Allison feels a small tremor of fear. These infiltrators...she doesn't know who they are, and she doesn't know if they're friend or foe...but if they're innocent, she has to help them. What other choice does she have?
Taking a deep breath, she continues.]
If you don't recognize me, it's okay. Wherever you are, if you leave me this mark I will find you.
[She pauses, her expression shifting...not the hard, arrogant calm some know in Allison Argent, but a curl of her lip and a subtle baring of her teeth that's more feral than anything.]
And if you're out there, killing innocent people for fun and profit? Don't worry.
[Her eyes narrow a little further...then flare to life with a brilliant golden light, her voice deepening and distorting with the first touch of a lupine growl.]
I'll find you, too.
(OOC: This post is good for the entire flood event! Feel free to mark which day you're playing if you want Allison to come and rescue your muse...or if you want to hunt the poor little she-wolf down. :P)

[She clearly doesn't understand what you mean, Allison.]
I'm a Warden. So are you. Only you're not yourself. Did Scott bite you when I wasn't looking?
[Oh. She forgot about her aura. The hand offered is smiled at as she rises from her crouch, withdrawing her hand from the hilt of her sword and simply steps off the branch. Her landing is soundless, and ends as she began, in a crouch, but with one hand on the ground to add absorption to the impact before straightening once more.
It's the moments when Kira doesn't think about it when she's supernaturally graceful. Walking down stairs while trying to capture a boy's attention? More likely to wind up with an almost broken neck.]
I'm actually completely lost as to what's going on. I've started keeping away from people after one or two of them took one look at me and ran off like they were terrified.
[Poor kitsune, so confused.]

She really seems like she has no idea what's going on. She's good at lying, masking her scent and controlling her heart rate, but Allison's not totally reliant on her senses.
She's a hunter. She knows how to read people...and she's also spent enough time around the nogitsune to know when she's being fed on.
Stepping closer to Kira, she peers deep into her eyes, her own flaring gold again. She takes in the pure, luminous form surrounding her body. There's no darkness to it, and the kind of power she's been told lives within her. Something true, something special...nothing like the parasite she knows.]
You must be one of the infiltrators the Admiral warned us about. [Her voice is reverent, tinged with a thread of wary hope.
Because if these infiltrators are like Kira...some strange, alternate versions of the wardens with consciences and a sense of decency...God, even goodness in them...
Swallowing thickly, Allison's eyes go dark again...but not before a thread of crimson is visible around her irises amidst the gold.]
People on the Barge think you're a nogitsune. And I'm not a warden, I'm an inmate. Just like everyone else on the ship with anything resembling a soul still left in them.
no subject
They think I'm the nogitsune? The other me is possessed by the nogitsune?
[Well. That explains a lot. Furrowing her brow, she shifts from side to side and then looks back at Allison.]
If there are others, we need to help them.

This girl is a kitsune. She doesn't smell like girl and ash and rot, she smells like girl and ozone and cherry blossoms. It brings tears to Allison's eyes, because it gives her something that the Barge has been slowly stealing from her for weeks.
Hope for the future.
With a brief sniffle, she nods with newfound resolve, offering Kira her hand.]
We will. Together...as a pack.
no subject
Lifting her chin, she looks into the proto-alpha's eyes.]
Where should we start?
no subject
We hunt.
[Her smile grows as she turns and heads back over to pick up her pack, speaking as she moves with a grace that is completely inhuman and an efficiency that betrays the more extensive military-style training she's had.]
I checked my pack when we arrived, there's maybe enough for two days...we could be here longer, so we need to back up our reserves with what meat and fresh water we can find. We're alone, we're safe for now...logical thing to do is stock up on what we can. Once that's done, we should split up and look for the triskelion. That's going to be a calling card for anyone that needs us now...we find one, we find who drew it and keep them close.
[Shouldering her pack, she turns to Kira with a critical yet fond look.]
I can track by scent, I don't know if you can...I can show you some basic tracking techniques if you need them, enough to follow a clear trail in case it's not safe for you to call me.
no subject
But let's do this. The people you connect with, you use the triskelion. The people I connect with... [She draws what appears to be the mirror image reversal of the number 5 in the dirt before erasing it.] That way we can keep track of who each of us has met. And we need a gathering point to bring the people we're certain of. Someplace we can defend well.
[Who knew Kira could be so tactical minded?]
no subject
For the first time in a long while, she feels far less alone in the burden of leadership.]
Okay, use the kanji when you pick someone up so I know. There's a clearing maybe forty five minutes that way.
[She gestures in the direction Kira will need to travel, then for the next half hour shows her all she can about tracking: finding footprints, how to read them, looking for cues in brush and leaves when there's no solid prints to follow. When she's done and satisfied with a set of rabbit tracks Kira has identified, Allison straightens, then impulsively hugs her.]
Don't trust any wolves with blue eyes unless you already know them that way. [She draws back, leveling her gaze at Kira soberly.] And if something happens, if there's danger...draw a single spiral to warn me away. It's the werewolf's symbol for vengeance.
no subject
She takes in the tracking and stealth lessons as well as she can, given the circumstances and lack of time. But her kitsune nature still helps her pick it up better than someone might normally under such circumstances.
She studies the symbol, once Allison shows her the spiral and smiles faintly.]
Learn something new every day. Do you have location you want to use to keep people safe? Maybe a cave or something? That we can defend easily.
